  1. Dec 05,  · “Damned Damned Damned” may have changed lives back then (mine being one) but who can really listen to it today? Being an icon and being a good piece of music are not the same things. The punk stuff has faded and dated, best left in history books and museums, whereas Strawberries’ clever mix of ‘60s psychedelia and power-pop still sounds /5().
  2. Jun 27,  · "Strawberries" is arguably the band's strongest album from the early 80s. Side One bristles with classic kinetic pop vis a vis "Ignite" and "Generals" while Side Two showcases the band's flair for subtlety as heard in the reflective calm of "Life Goes On" and boozy psychedelic flavor of "Under the Floor Again."/5(46).

  6. Strawberries saw a level of maturity that was actually kind of surprising, and something that they couldn't match after. Songs like "Dozen Girls" or "Bad Time for Bonzo" rock hard, and are among my favorite songs ever. They also showed that they could quiet down with "Don't Bother Me." The bonus tracks are okay, not great but not bad/5(61).
  7. "Dozen Girls" Released: 17 September "Generals" Released: 25 November ; Strawberries is the fifth studio album by English punk rock band the exexpreadasstalad.siwitaloctisennacitatakehe.co was released in October by record label Bronze.
  8. The album that found the Damned drifting away from punk while successfully crafting professional but vital hard rock, goth and pop. Captain Sensible gets sensitive with Kinks-ian class while singer Dave Vanian's "The Dog" (about the freaky girl from "Interview With a Vampire") is the defining Goth Rock song.
